‘cornfield cain’ takes aim

strawman 1

through midnight, moonlit,
bloodlet cornfield

sketchy straw-man motions at
you, bonely you

he’s slashed his, jerk-crocked fiend
form into plain view

brittle bitch branches sway twig
scratch warnings-

farewell, settled sunrise

anguish eyes burrow hostile
hostage holes

in melting candy middles
of mind

new brave-heart fear,
libates, dripping in kind

heidi hiding in plain view

the more seduction heidi paints on, the further wrong she’s gone

heidi 1

heidi bawls her special, ‘bad daddy’s girl’
stockings on

in hopes young, jacked stocking collector
might strut along

to distract her taut reflection from rot
tooth lonelinesses

gorging desperate last-call night
voids and piercing fault silences

highway hum

highway hum

sedans, SUVs, bolting chaos
down hyper humming

outcast senses deterred
by gaudy neon

macho metal shreds
rugs of asphalt,

rubber stench,
rages harsh assault

on paths of shuffling
poker cars

i’d rather guide my drive,
into redeemer’s calming

basic black

black 1
final time I gazed
your spellbinder’s

it was alight,
with fishy stories
and other silly
nothing things

the air-balloon lift
in your voice landed us
on softest blankets

wrapped in warped wisdom
and heart-blurred

so grim to see,
such vital spark
set free.

now stretched out
in mortal pose-
shell, empty

plain, ingrained black
is feeling, spilling me

human storms

human storms 1

something like scorn’s
ruthless funnel

tore through placid
pastures in hope-filled

coal breath scene,
sucked barren, cloud’s tears
spat at sorrow’s fire

no saving soul left to veil
heap of dissolving dead

just cowering witness to
crumbled carnage

of our hatred harm’s
decays, unsaid

Wombwell Rainbow Interviews: Anthony Gorman

I answered a few writer questions for Paul from Wombell Rainbow last week. I thought I’d reblog the contents. Feel free to check out his site. 🙂

The Wombwell Rainbow

Wombwell Rainbow Interviews

I am honoured and privileged that the following writers local, national and international have agreed to be interviewed by me. I gave the writers two options: an emailed list of questions or a more fluid interview via messenger.
The usual ground is covered about motivation, daily routines and work ethic, but some surprises too. Some of these poets you may know, others may be new to you. I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do.

Anthony Gormsn

introduces himself On his WordPress site:
I am a Social Worker by day and an artist/writer by night. I use the written word in an attempt to make sense of the secret worlds and dysfunctional dynamics that lurk beneath the facades of our daily interactions. I am not sure how my writing styles are characterized, nor am I overly concerned about it. I am immensely enthusiastic about…

a garden (ob)scene

a garden obscene 1

there go Mildred and Spud

out in arid garden, airin’
their laundry stink

cringy screams scaring
neighbours’ children

Mildred’s scissor
arms, all snaps
and flailin’

sorry, can’t hear
what you’re sayin’

what with crass loop of
rage replayin’

mad mountains of

of baby sky

scorched rotten rock,
horizon blocked

bloodstreams boil,
shrieking trees fry

land living things
have long since died

what hope rests on
