Paper Touch

touching a bygone texture
is much like feel of
thinning skin on
paper,

spreading sheets for
whatever’s petty
news,

uncoiling every
headline’s
noose,

he tastes the sores
all through his
throat

yet, soul’s lost all sense,
when it comes
to mind,

he pauses n’ clears each chair
from room empty
by design.
