Gold Leaf Tea

turned in the killer n’ all
his money just before
it made me

ugly and greed paid me to be
the kind of man who’s skin
glows green when talkin’
down all that’s light
and sunny,

from so many trapdoor skies
above me, for they all drop
now so golden bricks
n’ heavy

its harps and heavens
still avoid me.

well i’m here if they ever wanna
knock on bark and join me
in my tree knot for a
warm-up cup o’
gold leaf
tea.
