Daybreaks My Heart

daybreaks my heart
and each night
mends it,

i curse her winds, trash
my hope, but in sky’s
next breath, fresh
wings are sent,

stamped, no return address
n’ whispered thru my branches with
a fresh only hinted at by
morning breeze,

and dropped here in
my lap like helicopter seeds
from some playful tree,
wanting more
from me.

can’t see it clear
unless i listen

and heart’s not free
until i tune in.
