river’s bleedin’ as the
devil’s drowning
and you said..

“won’t you throw
your old pal
a life?,

don’t just let him
tread like

so, i threw him

to which you just frowned,
and rang your

next, a surge of dolphins carved the
waves like blue birthday cake
and you handed me the
bragger’s slice,

then you lit a candle,
motioned to the
devil and

“come on, man
play nice.”
