pug’s the shag rug
stretched over
my cold
feet,
whimpering while
pinned ‘neath my
net of heat,
so i reach down
to stroke his
twitchy
ears,
til back paw
thumps my heart
like bambi’s
rabbit,
so deep i can’t
handle it.
