2020-09-13 – Apple Tree

i’ll stash this glowing
apple for when i
need it,

knees in grit
to pray..

this fruit won’t decay
before i’ve had a
fair chance
to juice
it..

and to bury its withered
pit, then i’ll hold
vigil and..

nurse
it,

++++

til it’s bloomed ripe
on branch for
next hand
to pick.

..don’t bite so quick.
