gripping budded tip of
springboard’s
tongue,
trying not to touch
off its gag
reflex
each time i walk
my toes back
an inch..
further from the sting
of pool’s pouty
chlorine
lips
i make it back to land
and give patio
stone
a big dry
kiss.
