peeling a layer
revealing
too much overgrowth
to cut through
in one
life,
so i’ll clip the tip
of but one
leaf..
sturdy enough to seed
amongst my
garden’s
weeds,
and drop level
to fertile
earth
as faithful
sinner,
and sift soil softly
through my
fingers.
