this song’s a trip
back down
the cotton candy
highways of
those merry go
round days,
our playground
raids at dusk,
we’d swing
like stars
from
monkey bars..
and in faithful leap
i’d let go and
land on..
toasty side of
the teeter-totter,
face to face
with rainbow
daughter.

Loved this. I feel like I have relived memories of my daughter in much the same way. Back when she was small and lithesome and smiling at everything.
I’m so glad to hear that. The older I get the richer the memories seem.. until they fade i guess? 😉 Thanks for reading and hope 2021 has greeted you with friendly handed.
“cotton candy and merry go round days,” I just loved this poem!
Thanks, it was fun to write. 🙂
