raindrops falling on my head

i shower several
times a day,

not long soaks,
just quick
spits,

like run-through
sprinkler
rinse..

if i paused for long enough
to stand at sink, fruit
in hand freshly
picked..

i’d roll it under
running tap

to wash debris from travel,
bruises from rough
handling,

if i plan to take these
grease ball
streets,

may as well
shine

like fruit i’d
rather
eat.
