a dream
and found myself trapped
in someone
else,
till i became the
voice
to summon my
release–
for the dream within
a dream to
cease.

my words–
i crowded your
mind,
you offered real
time–
i seized more than
my share,
you proved that
you cared..
far more than
was fair.
she caught
me
staring through
our photo–
to find
the green patch,
then erased my face
from memory,
and stepped with me
into flusher
scenery.
in your
kiss..
slipped a plea
to believe
if for just the
moment-
with both eyes
closed
and my fingers clasped
around yours.
the day fell
like lead curtains,
you endured character
attacks,
so i’ll display
affections
in a meal i made
from scratch,
it won’t resolve work
troubles
but may let you
relax.
the full weight of
your smile,
a chipped and faded
checkered
floor tile,
the stitches from
your belly
laughs-
all that in
a photograph.
a rain kissed
stroll..
past the old
haunt
reminds me why
we moved
and rekindles
wistful
mood.
a conversation
fades..
and pupils
float,
as silence becomes
wedged
deep in our
throats.
life
is brief–
but today’s a never
ending tale..
and details of yesterday
can’t help but
sound stale.
bubbles from
a song–
float over my
brain,
then burst to
produce
refreshing
rain,
whispers in a
dream–
soothe us till
we wake,
please do resolve this
inner ache.
