steppin’ down from
the high wire,

a blind man trips over
his blue balls,

narrow in escaping singe
of homespun flame,

wheels spin until they stall
spokes dissolve in man’s
free fall,

face’s selfie-side is velcroed
to cell’s lone padded
wall..

suckling tail of flimsy
robe like it’s hard
candy–

cheeks puffed out like
frog that swallows
all toads,

but sucks hard
candy..

by the trash
load.

man leaks a raspy shriek
like shrek.

oh heck,

seems he’s gone caught his
tongue in teeth of one
sharp zipper,

then managed to bang splinted
shin on rounded table
corner,

only to strike a new-slinged
wing on marble
counter.

hear that?

man commencin’ final
tick-down on nubs
of missing
fingers

10, 9, 8..

still not feelin’
any great.

..7, 6, 5..

chews his jaw
gone..

..4, 3, 2..

picks at skins like glue,
can’t see any sign
of sun..

can you?

just dark spots over
tin roof’s rain..

seems i forgot a number,
guess it never
came,
