rainbow on a stone
backdrop
i see cracks in
clouds
midst breaks in
speech
and pretend
i spot
where eyes can’t
reach.
imagination
fully
unveiled
i reveal a
tail
and scaly hide beneath
my supple pink,
bleeding colors
yet to be
seen
if only
in dreams.
please, a moment
longer
for me to gather
thoughts
and throw them
at the wall,
to watch them
stick..
or not.
they said
i’d dreamt you
better than i knew
myself,
though i’ve held you
real enough
to sense your
absence
from my book
shelf.
filling the
chair-
but not really
there..
are better places
to be,
like laid
out
by
placid
sea.
hands in the garden
