a hope childly
sincere,
she smiles petals
flush
as fragrant dawn
drizzles
dew
on crop kissed
blush and
blue.
love
tension reached
its break
with the birth of
an embrace
that blazed through
every secret
that kept us at
arm’s length.
love starts with one
heartbeat
‘gainst a cage that
rattles and
splits,
till out fly the
doves
from a cold,
lifeless
pit.
