storyteller, do share
another-
while i fade into
slumber
deep..
sleep once the
stranger..
finds me
weak.
mindfulness
damage done
and swept,
regrets outraged
and wept,
still wiping sweat
from lips-
incase another
ill word
slips.
still mopping up
my mess.
till floor’s no
longer
wet-
what i give
is what
i get.
come for
me,
don’t comfort
please,
while on both
knees
it’s best i
learn
to rely on
me–
for deep
relief,
to balm
this inner burn,
it means so
much
you wish to
please,
to quench my
thirst–
but
help me
turn to me first?
toes in the
puddle
wiggling a
little,
to watch waters
wave
goodbye to drab
days.
dimness fades
after the
bleed-
and sky appears
relieved
now lighter and
less dour,
yet aware of its
dark powers.
despite forecast
rain..
clouds stay in
their lane,
holding loads
for lesser
days-
to coat our
panes
in see through
paint.
eyes behind the
cloud-
yours
or mine?
a crowd between
two lovers..
trying to find
each other
in different
lines–
while they have
time.
sweat drips down
stiff upper
lip,
till salt licks my
tongue
heat won’t
quit,
but i shan’t
admit,
it’s no loner
fun..
in
the sun.
not you,
but an outline..
and were i so
inclined-
i’d lay in the
creases,
and rest like
you might
were you here now,
basking in
sunlight.
heat wave
bakes
abandoned
lake–
as kids by
fans
imagine
sand
and the many
shapes it
takes.
hands in the garden
