night falls with a
clatter and
shatters,
so we gather up
the shards
to restore what
we will by
dawn.
poetry
freefalling into
your arms
proves
disarming
yet is the
very comfort
that keeps both
eyes closed
and my heart in
the clouds.
posing with such
poise
while deflecting
questions,
in a genial
voice of
reason
you
resolve
situations
before they turn
frustration.
subtle was
the kiss
that acquainted
me with
lasting
love
after years of
fleeting
fevers
the worst one
broke,
and there stood
you..
sincere and
shy.
night frosts my
eyelids
while
i search
as if you can’t
be found,
i part the
sky
so you can’t
hide
then motion you
on down.
i melted into
you
and felt that
ache
as though i
caused
it,
then tried to
soothe
it
in ways that robbed
you of the
chance
to better know
yourself.
don’t raise
me
from this raging river
with your
wings
untill i’ve mastered
swimming..
please leave me to
my treading.
all powdered lawns
and lowered
blinds
as i drift down
unclear
path
towards frosty
field
coated like a
weighted
blanket
i’d hibernate
beneath.
fully
unveiled
i reveal a
tail
and scaly hide beneath
my supple pink,
bleeding colors
yet to be
seen
if only
in dreams.
i’d swap this
thought
for a little inward
space
to
invade-
to never find my
way back
into
human mind,
getting
lost–
at a loss
again.
