so much blood
on ice,
melted down
to intended state
to absorb back
into veins
with the wisdom
of hindsight
in organic
light.
shadow play
night falls with a
clatter and
shatters,
so we gather up
the shards
to restore what
we will by
dawn.
posing with such
poise
while deflecting
questions,
in a genial
voice of
reason
you
resolve
situations
before they turn
frustration.
i melted into
you
and felt that
ache
as though i
caused
it,
then tried to
soothe
it
in ways that robbed
you of the
chance
to better know
yourself.
all powdered lawns
and lowered
blinds
as i drift down
unclear
path
towards frosty
field
coated like a
weighted
blanket
i’d hibernate
beneath.
fully
unveiled
i reveal a
tail
and scaly hide beneath
my supple pink,
bleeding colors
yet to be
seen
if only
in dreams.
you came ribbon
wrapped
in shiny
paper
begging to
be torn,
though all i did
was stare
as not to
disturb
perfection
adorned.
shadow on the
window
sill
says nothing yet
rules me
still
by granting my
childest
desires-
by absolving
tears on
fire.
heaviness of
talk–
drags me into rooms
i care not
visit
to squander
hours
on words that
matter
not.
sorrow takes
a bow
so dear griever
can breathe
in fresh night
which carries upon it
the desire to heal
beyond.
