all powdered lawns
and lowered
blinds
as i drift down
unclear
path
towards frosty
field
coated like a
weighted
blanket
i’d hibernate
beneath.
shadow play
fully
unveiled
i reveal a
tail
and scaly hide beneath
my supple pink,
bleeding colors
yet to be
seen
if only
in dreams.
you came ribbon
wrapped
in shiny
paper
begging to
be torn,
though all i did
was stare
as not to
disturb
perfection
adorned.
shadow on the
window
sill
says nothing yet
rules me
still
by granting my
childest
desires-
by absolving
tears on
fire.
heaviness of
talk–
drags me into rooms
i care not
visit
to squander
hours
on words that
matter
not.
sorrow takes
a bow
so dear griever
can breathe
in fresh night
which carries upon it
the desire to heal
beyond.
supple hand on a
shoulder
unsettles the
mourner
wishing he felt comfort
by touch
in these moments
where rawness
reigns.
love starts with one
heartbeat
‘gainst a cage that
rattles and
splits,
till out fly the
doves
from a cold,
lifeless
pit.
on the stairway
to no end,
i take a breather then
begin again,
each rung closer
to nowhere,
not even aware of
what landed
me there.
a sudden breeze
tips the
candle
sending its spark
spilling
onto kitchen
table..
consuming remnants
of a letter
i never seem to
complete.
hands in the garden
