salt and sugar sprinkled
down my spine,
kisses traced from
here to eden,
a viper wound
around the
thigh-
at rapture’s peak
within its
grasp.
shadow work
we squinted through
moonlight
as though it aimed
to invade our
thoughts..
are no longer
kept secret
in the presence of
such boldness.
one dark day in
hollywood..
the stars
dipped low
to drag our dust
back to the
heavens
where we belong,
filthy but
free.
it was humanly
natural
and destined
to be
the truth that
broke our
quiet
as tears restored
the peace.
your hand felt
like water
within
mine,
and i watched
as drop by
drop
your reflection
puddled on the ground
and dove
in.
you returned
brighter
to
blind,
so i didn’t open
my eyes
yet
realized.
puddles formed
around my
feet
in the center of
a crowded
room,
i spotted you
across the
eyes
wondering if your
shoes were
soggy
too.
slipped my hand
from glove
to find yours open,
waiting..
to tender mercy’s
touch,
to melt the frost
around my
heart.
visible from
shore
are shadows
midst the waves,
as moonlight
holds vigil
over underwater
graves.
upon
dashboard–
i spot lights and
dials to guide
my ride
midst
whispers
from backseat
driver side.
