we crossed once
in heavy
rain-

you hailed a
taxi,

i waved in
vain,

we passed again when
skies were
clear,

you met true
love,

while i shed
tears-

until years
later

you reappeared
to ask..

“haven’t i seen your
face ’round
here?”

(at last!)

same lost walk
through
park

new marvels tug
at sleeve

to be
believed,

too busy peering
down, trying
not to
trip

over crack
in familiar ground..

to glance about
and see,

there’s far more to
perceive

than
draggin’ feet.
