i’ll take autumn’s hand
should she ask me
to dance,
in the splendor of
her vibrancy–
i’d rise to such
a chance.
spiritual evolution
let your hair
fall,
so that i may watch
it cascade
like raven
ribbons-
like moonlit
shower-
on the cusp of
your reveal.
in somber march through
dreamscapes..
i happen upon
dawn–
to find she’s changed
her colors
to oblige my reentry
and reverence.
sweater vest, you’re
too tight
and don’t flatter
me right,
wish that i had
refused..
second helpings
last night.
you, with your
rocky mountain smile
and scent of juniper
breeze,
on a frosty autumn
morning–
it’s just us amongst
the trees.
you grasped
at sky
and dragged it
down
to face you
eye to
eye,
then burst every
cloud in
sight.
your light’s
sincere,
a smile so ripe
with life,
those eyes..
i’d climb and dive into
to get a closer
view.
sailing a graceful
breeze your
way,
feel my coming
on cresting
wave
from the other
side of
sky you gaze
upon
like it’s forgotten
your face.
in between blunted
honks of
geese
i watch you soar
to far off
perch
to take your place
amidst the
free,
accentuating the space
that spans our
fates.
startled
by the sound
of my
imagination,
woken by a feeling
i assumed had
passed,
taken with a sight
that refuses
to let
go,
settled by the voice
of someone i
used to
know.
