like winter
storm
with little
warning
she blinded me
so gracefully..
so grateful to
be buried.
dark romance
you had more
light
than we would
burn
off
with
friction,
causing sparks
couldn’t be
turned
off
but we prefer
it dark.
a fallen rose petal
covers my
eye,
its salve soothing
me deep
as it
blinds.

we
lost time..
won’t forgive us
for staring
back
into
darkness–
desperate for that
next kiss.
we were kindling
for a fire..
we knew would dim
by morning
but surrendered
our hearts
gladly
to
the
flames
working through
the hurting
while
questioning
what’s
just happened
to leave
us sweating
this long into
the night.
inside
we writhe–
two sweaty
ropes
with needs
of their
own,
friction
burns
up and down
our fibers–
better than shiverin’
alone?
at a loaded
table
we tossed our
dice
but some love comes
at a price
i won’t pay
twice
i feel you
closer,
when we sing
together,
yet,
too often
we hum the same
lonely tune
in different
rooms.
i lit a match to
see you
better
under
moonlight,
you turned
away
as if the flash
was too
bright–
as though i
blinded
night.
