sounded well and
wise at the
time,
but here you lay
tangled in
mine.
rhyme
were we present
for the flash
or was it product
of a future
fading fast?
and would we know this
moment captured
well
or let it slip right
through our
grasp?
i am all over the place
these days
like spilled
paint,
imprinting my mess
in peculiar
shapes.
i prayed unto
a glossy
moon
that dare not turn
its lighter
side
with all
that i still hide.
you’d have me chase
that mystery
through unlatched
door
into a room-
not yours,
now darling, do
i dare..
rummage through
all those old
times
that are not mine
to share?
buildings cast
man sized shadows
only passing
through,
city holds its
ashen
hue.
yes, i’m sweet
but messy,
you knew it when
you met
me..
not that truth
makes it
easy.
he burns the
leaves,
inhales the
steam,
takes his
bath
but can’t
relax
into sleep.
tension reached
its break
with the birth of
an embrace
that blazed through
every secret
that kept us at
arm’s length.
why not meet me
up a tree?
and let’s see if we
can sleep,
while night wind
nips our
limbs
the stars
dim.
