into flusher

with both eyes

and my fingers clasped

the day fell
like lead curtains,
you endured character
attacks,
so i’ll display
affections
in a meal i made
from scratch,
it won’t resolve work
troubles
but may let you
relax.
the full weight of
your smile,
a chipped and faded
checkered
floor tile,
the stitches from
your belly
laughs-
all that in
a photograph.
a rain kissed
stroll..
past the old
haunt
reminds me why
we moved
and rekindles
wistful
mood.
a conversation
fades..
and pupils
float,
as silence becomes
wedged
deep in our
throats.
life
is brief–
but today’s a never
ending tale..
and details of yesterday
can’t help but
sound stale.
bubbles from

float over my
brain,
then burst to
produce
refreshing
rain,
whispers in a
dream–
soothe us till
we wake,
please do resolve this
inner ache.
tried to call
you-
trying to reach
me,
both so desperate
to connect
in ways distance
just won’t
reflect.
